Coconut oil, 1 tablespoon

Raw honey, 2 teaspoons

Turmeric – has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties to fight off skin irritations, brightens the skin and fights skin ageing.

  • Banana – moisturizes the skin, minimizes wrinkles and acne scars.

For your DIY mask you will need :

  • Coconut oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Half of a ripe banana
  • Turmeric, 1 pinch.

Mix in the coconut oil and turmeric with a mashed up banana and apply a coating of the mixture on your clean face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse with cool water.

Choose overripe bananas as they are easier to mash.

To remove turmeric stains, use lemon juice and a nailbrush and scrub gently for about a minute.

 

Coconut Oil DIY mask Nutmeg Avocado Face Mask

A combination of coconut oil, nutmeg and avocado is great for skin hydration and prevents skin breakouts.

Nutmeg – exfoliates skin cells

Avocado – fights free radicals that causes premature skin ageing, antioxidant and hydrates the skin.

For the DIY mask, you will need :

  • Coconut oil, 1 tablespoon
  • Half a teaspoon of nutmeg
  • A quarter of a ripe avocado.

Mash up a ripe avocado into a smooth paste. Mix in the coconut oil and nutmeg. Apply on your skin in a circular motion and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool water or use a warm washcloth to peel off.

Tips for this DIY mask:

This facemask can also be applied on the hands, neck cleavage and legs. Use ripe avocados for easy mashing. Do not use too much nutmeg as it might irritate your skin.
